Acessibilidade, calçada não é jardim particular

Acessibilidade, calçada não é jardim particular – a acessibilidade para o cadeirante aqui no Brasil não é nada fácil. Nossas calçadas são esburacadas e sem rampas nas esquinas. Mas há um fator que faz tudo ficar ainda pior: o hábito de fazer das calçadas a extensão de nosso jardim particular.
Acessibilidade, calçada não é jardim particular – se de um lado o morador acham que podem fazer o jardim que bem entender no passeio público em frente sua casa, do outro lado a prefeitura (todas elas Brasil inteiro) nada faz para resolver isso. O que se vê são pedestres, cadeirantes, idosos, senhoras com carrinho de bebê descendo da calçada feita de jardim, para seguir pela rua, em meio a todos os carros, correndo sério risco de atropelamento.
Acessibilidade, calçada não é jardim particular – mas não desanime, pois muita coisa já mudou no Brasil em relação à acessibilidade. Eu sou testemunha disso. Aliás, lutei minha vida inteira por isso. Ainda falta um milhão de coisas, mas já avançamos muito. Isso é inegável.

Acessibilidade nas calçadas do Brasil ainda é uma utopia, um sonho para todos nós cadeirantes brasileiros. Não somente para nós cadeirantes, mas para todos os demais cidadãos que delas necessitam. São pedestres, são mães empurrando carrinho de bebê, são donas de casa com carrinhos de compra, são crianças e adultos que precisam de uma calçada acessível para andar com conforto e total segurança.
Acessibilidade nas calçadas do Brasil é uma coisa que sequer passa pela cabeça de prefeitos e vereadores. Aliás, estou para perguntar qual a utilidade de um vereador no atual contexto de nossa política, pois em vez de trabalhar para o bem das comunidades, só sabem apresentar a criação dos projetos mais esdrúxulas de que se tem notícia, além de ficar mudando nomes de ruas que já estavam ali há décadas, causando uma confusão terrível na cabeça de quem já estava acostumado com os antigos endereços.
Acessibilidade nas calçadas do Brasil é algo que, a depender de nossos administradores municipais, parece não será resolvido tão cedo. Gostaria que o cargo de vereador voltasse a ser como já foi um dia no Brasil, sem remuneração. Aí sim, só se apresentariam para ocupar o cargo aqueles que verdadeiramente desejassem trabalhar para o bem das cidades. O cargo de Prefeito também deveria ser sem remuneração. Queria ver se surgiriam tantos candidatos interessados ao posto de maior mandatário do município.
